Saikat Mitra, Google Asia-Pacific senior director and head of trust and safety, said a large number of apps have been removed from the Play Store. More than half of the personal loan apps are no longer available on the Play Store. Saikat Mitra said that Google has been working with some stakeholders for a long time.


New Delhi-The app from which you have taken a personal loan. or are thinking of taking one. That app may not appear in the Play Store. Google has blocked nearly 2000 personal loan apps on the app market place in India. According to Google, these apps do not follow its policies.

Saikat Mitra, Google Asia-Pacific senior director and head of trust and safety, said a large number of apps have been removed from the Play Store. More than half of the personal loan apps are no longer available on the Play Store. Saikat Mitra said that Google has been working with some stakeholders for a long time. This includes government agencies, the media, and user referrals. 
Apart from this, the company has put in place its own artificial intelligence system to monitor people violating rules on the Play Store. Based on the findings, the app was removed from the Play Store. blocking apps that follow bad business practices, Mitra said. It is easier in countries like Indonesia than in India. Only government-approved app loans can be given there.

Google has clarified that apps blocked on the Play Store cannot be said to provide loans with high-interest rates, high processing fees, and abusive terms. The company has its own criteria for this removal.
